23/ Dead Sea Corniche, beach boost visitor experience with integrated tourism offerings

Dead Sea, June 6 (Petra) – Tourism activity at the Dead Sea is witnessing steady growth, supported by modern development projects and facilities that have enhanced the region's tourism landscape and expanded recreational options for visitors and families.

Among the most prominent of these projects are the Dead Sea Corniche and the Dead Sea Beach, which together form an integrated destination combining leisure, recreation and community activities.

The Dead Sea Corniche is a public development and recreational project spanning around 600 dunams.

It features a 1.2-kilometer promenade overlooking the Dead Sea, family seating areas, sports fields, tartan tracks, cycling paths and designated spaces for events and activities.

The site includes an open-air theater with a capacity of approximately 2,500 people, making it a key venue for cultural, artistic and entertainment events.

The Dead Sea Beach, located about seven kilometers from the Corniche, offers direct access to the Dead Sea and its unique natural environment.

It includes designated swimming areas, a children's pool, family seating zones, modern health and service facilities, shops and parking areas, providing a safe and comfortable experience for visitors of all ages.

The beach was recently reopened following a seven-year closure, after extensive renovation and development works.

Although each site serves a distinct function, the Corniche and the Beach complement each other within a broader tourism development vision.

The Corniche provides open public spaces for activities and events, while the beach offers a direct recreational and therapeutic experience of the Dead Sea.

The impact of these projects was reflected in strong visitor turnout during recent holidays, with more than 30,000 visitors recorded at both sites during Independence Day and Eid Al Adha celebrations.

The figures highlight growing domestic tourism demand and the increasing appeal of the Dead Sea as a major recreational destination.

Officials said the results underscore ongoing efforts to develop the Dead Sea region by providing modern public and tourism facilities that support economic activity and strengthen the area's position as one of Jordan's leading tourist destinations.
