Amman, June 5 (Petra)-- Minister of Investment Tareq Abu Ghazaleh held a series of high-level economic meetings with business and trade leaders in London as part of Jordan’s efforts to promote investment opportunities, strengthen economic partnerships, and attract high-quality investments to the Kingdom. As part of the visit, Abu Ghazaleh participated in a roundtable discussion hosted by the British Expertise International (BEI) and The D Group under the Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) program. The event was attended by Jordan’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Manar Dabbas, and brought together leading executives from the infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, and logistics sectors. Participants discussed opportunities to enhance investment partnerships between the private sectors of Jordan and the United Kingdom, particularly in development projects, while highlighting Jordan’s strategic location as a gateway to regional markets. During the meeting, Abu Ghazaleh underscored the depth of the strategic relationship between Jordan and the United Kingdom and the growing cooperation between the two countries across various economic and investment fields. He highlighted the promising investment opportunities available in Jordan across several key sectors, supported by a competitive business environment and modern economic legislation designed to facilitate investment procedures and respond to evolving market needs. He noted that such engagements provide an important platform for direct communication with business leaders, investors, and international economic institutions, while showcasing Jordan’s investment potential in promising sectors. These efforts, he said, contribute to attracting more value-added investments, supporting economic growth, and creating employment opportunities for Jordanians. For his part, Ambassador Dabbas emphasized the importance of building on the strong Jordanian-British relationship to further enhance economic and investment cooperation. He reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to expanding partnerships with the British business community and attracting additional investments to the Kingdom. Dr. David Landsman, Chief Executive Officer of British Expertise International and Consulting Director at The D Group, said the organization and the group work with a broad network of experts and consultants across climate, energy, education, space, infrastructure, and logistics sectors. He described the meeting as a valuable opportunity to explore cooperation prospects between the private sectors in Jordan and the United Kingdom, expressing confidence that the discussions would generate new and productive avenues for collaboration. In the same context, Abu Ghazaleh also met with the UK Trade Envoy to Jordan, Kuwait and the Palestinian Territories, Lord Ian McNicol, as well as representatives of the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce in London. Discussions focused on strengthening economic and trade cooperation, promoting Jordan’s investment opportunities, and exploring new partnerships between the business communities of both countries. The meetings form part of the Ministry of Investment’s ongoing efforts to promote Jordan’s investment opportunities internationally, strengthen engagement with leading economic institutions and global business communities, and reinforce the Kingdom’s position as an attractive destination for quality investments that support economic growth, sustainable development, and job creation. //Petra// MF
