2/ Mild Summer conditions forecast Through Monday - JMD
Amman, June 5 (Petra)-- Moderate summer weather is expected to prevail across most parts of the Kingdom on Friday, while relatively hot to hot conditions will continue in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD). The department said northwesterly winds will be moderate in speed, becoming active at times during the day. In its weather forecast, the JMD indicated that similar conditions are expected to continue through Monday, with moderate summer temperatures across most regions and relatively hot to hot weather in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds are also forecast, occasionally becoming active, particularly in the Badia regions. Temperatures on Friday are expected to range between 30 C and 17 C in East Amman, and 28 C and 15 C in West Amman. Northern highlands will see temperatures between 26 C and 13 C, while the Sharah highlands are forecast to record 27 C and 14 C. In the Badia areas, temperatures will range from 34 C to 15 C, while the plains are expected to see highs of 31 C and lows of 14 C. Warmer conditions will prevail in the Jordan Valley, with temperatures forecast at 37 C to 18 C in the northern Jordan Valley and 39 C to 21 C in the southern Jordan Valley. The Dead Sea is expected to record temperatures between 38 C and 20 C, while Aqaba will see highs of 39 C and lows of 22 C. //Petra// MF
