Amman, June 4 (Petra) – Media spokesperson for Public Security Directorate (PSD) said specialized firefighting crews from the West Irbid Civil Defense Directorate Thursday responded to a fire that broke out in a single room inside a house in Deir Abi Saeed district, some 25 klm southwest of Irbid city.

In a statement, the spokesperson noted the fatal blaze killed a couple and injured their son.

He added that the firefighters extinguished and controlled the blaze. Paramedics provided necessary first aid to the injured son and transported him and his dead parents to Princess Raya Government Hospital.

The injured son is receiving treatment, while an investigation was launched into the cause of the deadly incident.
