13/ National Taekwondo Team Targets Strong Start at Rome Grand Prix
Amman, June 4 (Petra) -- The national taekwondo team is set to begin its participation on Friday in the opening round of the World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series in Rome, as athletes seek valuable ranking points and strong performances in one of the sport's most prestigious competitions. The three-day event, which concludes on Sunday, is being held at the Foro Italico complex in the Italian capital and features elite competitors from around the world. The national team enters the tournament with a roster that combines experienced international medal contenders and emerging athletes, aiming to build on recent successes on the global stage. Friday's competitions will see Fadia Kharfan compete in the women's under-57kg category, Razan Al-Rawashdeh in the women's under-67kg division and Olympic silver medalist Saleh Al-Sharabaty in the men's under-80kg event. Action will continue on Saturday with Zaid Mustafa and Zaid Al-Halawani competing in the men's under-68kg category, while Rama Abu Al-Rub will contest the women's over-67kg division. The team's participation will conclude on Sunday when Jaafar Al-Dawood competes in the men's under-58kg category.
