Amman, June 3 (Petra) -- The Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film (AIFF) announced on Wednesday the theme and official poster for its seventh edition, which will be held in Jordan from July 26 to August 3.

According to a festival statement, HRH Princess Rym Ali, a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Royal Film Commission–Jordan, president of the festival and co-founder, said the seventh edition will be held under the theme "Beyond the Frame."

Princess Rym said the theme is an invitation to look beyond the image and beyond the screen to the human stories that connect people.

She added that the theme serves as a reminder that some of the most important elements of storytelling extend beyond the boundaries of the frame and that what lies beyond the image embraces a diversity of perspectives and visions.

"In a world changing at an accelerating pace, and at a time when artificial intelligence is influencing artistic tools in unprecedented ways, cinema remains a profoundly human endeavor that broadens our understanding of one another and opens new horizons before us," she said.

Festival Director and Co-Founder Nada Doumani said that as the festival continues to evolve, it remains committed to celebrating films that transcend the limits of the camera lens.

"Today, more than ever, we need artists, intellectuals and cultural practitioners to come together to better understand the world around us, reflect on its rapid transformations, and listen to stories and voices whose echoes remain long after the image fades," she said.

According to the statement, the official poster for this year’s edition, designed by creative agency From Soda, offers a visual interpretation of the theme through expanding frames that move beyond the boundaries of the image toward multiple perspectives.

The festival said further details regarding the program, participating films, jury members and invited guests will be announced in the coming weeks.
