Amman, June 3 (Petra) -- Former Prime Minister and President of the Tourism Economy Association, Omar Razzaz, said Jordan’s tourism sector has achieved a qualitative leap and enhanced its ability to confront challenges and maintain competitiveness through effective partnerships and close cooperation between the government, the private sector and other relevant institutions, despite difficult and exceptional regional circumstances.

Razzaz made the remarks during a session titled "Reshaping Inbound Tourism in Light of Recent Developments," organized on Wednesday by the Jordan Inbound Tourism Operators Association. The event was attended by a number of ministers, members of parliament and the Senate, as well as leading representatives of the tourism and economic sectors, association members and tourism stakeholders.

He stressed the importance of continuing efforts to diversify target tourism markets and avoid reliance on any single market. He also called for the development and promotion of a wider range of tourism products, particularly medical and religious tourism, to attract new visitor segments and support the sector’s sustainable growth.

For his part, Chairman of the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association, Nabih Real, underscored the importance of strengthening dialogue and cooperation among all stakeholders in the tourism sector amid the challenges and changes affecting the industry at both the regional and international levels.

The association’s Executive Director, Lama Al-Mahadin, presented an overview of the organization’s key achievements over recent years, as well as its future plans aimed at boosting inbound tourism to Jordan and opening new tourism markets.

The session examined the main challenges and opportunities facing Jordan’s tourism sector and explored ways to enhance the Kingdom’s competitiveness and attract more visitors in the coming period.

Participants also discussed sector-related issues and responded to questions from attendees, creating an interactive and productive exchange.

Participants emphasized the importance of intensifying cooperation between the public and private sectors, developing Jordan’s tourism offering, and restoring the Kingdom’s position on the global tourism map.
