  5/ U20 Football Team Begins Turkey Training Camp Ahead of Asian Qualifiers

Amman, June 3 (Petra) – The Jordanian under-20 national football team has commenced technical and physical preparations in Yalova, Turkey, as part of an intensive training camp running through June 9 ahead of the upcoming AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Following recovery sessions upon their arrival on Monday, the squad held its first full tactical session under the direction of head coach Ibrahim Helmi, with all players participating.

The training cycle features three friendly fixtures. The team will face Saudi Arabia on Thursday, June 4, at Derince Stadium, followed by a match against Panama on Saturday, June 6, at the Golcuk City Stadium. The friendly lineup concludes with a fixture against Iraq on Monday, June 8, at the same venue.

Helmi's 23-player roster includes: Mohammad Al-Shaloul, Mohammad Al-Lataifeh, Qusai Al-Halahleh, Omar Al-Khatib, Yasser Al-Hambouz, Hussein Dhiyabat, Zaid Al-Khawaldeh, Ahmed Abu Koosh, Mohannad Mahmoud, Iyad Al-Amawi, Ali Owiwi, Ahd Al-Shahadat, Saud Abu Zaid, Ali Al-Nuaimi, Mohammad Al-Bitar, Mohammad Abu Al-Ghanam, Nasser Al-Dajani, Qais Al-Shawashreh, Mohammad Abu Rumh, Assem Abu Ayyash, Mohammad Hinduma, Malek Al-Bestanji, and Mahmoud Al-Tmaizi.

The conditioning stint is designed to optimize the team's readiness for the AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers. Jordan has been drawn into Group D alongside Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Bahrain, with the qualification matches scheduled to take place in Bahrain between August 31 and September 6.
