31/ Jordanian community celebrates 80th Independence Day in 4 British cities

Amman, June 3 (Petra) – The Jordanian community in the United Kingdom held celebrations in four British cities to mark the Kingdom's 80th Independence Day.

Organized by the Jordanian Forum in Britain, the two-day event drew hundreds of community members and friends of Jordan.

Jordanians gathered in London, Manchester, Nottingham, and Birmingham in a vibrant national atmosphere, reflecting their pride in their homeland and their strong connection to their Jordanian identity.

The celebration venues were adorned with Jordanian flags and traditional dress, creating a scene that embodied the joy and sense of allegiance on this national occasion.

In a press statement, Dalal Jibril, the forum's head, stated the "large" turnout for the events reflects Jordanians' keenness in the UK to participate in national events, strengthen their social and cultural ties, and reaffirm their pride in Jordan and its wise Hashemite leadership.

She added that the celebrations saw a "wide turnout" from various British cities, as Jordanians gathered in a festive atmosphere that combined Independence Day and Eid al-Adha, in a moving family-oriented scene.

Jibril said success of the celebrations reflects the forum's growing role in strengthening ties among the community's members.

This year's expansion to include new cities came in response to the interest of Jordanians in the United Kingdom in participating in national and social activities, she pointed out.
