Amman, June 3 (Petra) -- The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) closed higher Wednesday, as the general share price index gained 0.21 percent to settle at 4,056 points.

Total trading volume reached JD22.5 million, as 5.6 million shares changed hands across 4,960 transactions.

At the sectoral level, the services and financial indexes rose 0.52%, and 0.25%, respectively, while the industrial index slipped 0.35%.

Of the 95 companies traded, 40 posted gains and 29 recorded losses, while the remaining 26 remained stable.
