48/ Jordan showcases public sector modernisation experience to Palestinian delegation

Amman, July 15 (Petra) – Minister of State for Public Sector Development Badriya Balbisi on Wednesday introduced a Palestinian delegation to Jordan's public sector modernisation programme.

Balbisi said the modernisation project, launched at the start of the Kingdom's second centennial, is built on political, economic and administrative reforms, with administrative modernisation serving as a key pillar.

She discussed the government's second executive programme for the Public Sector Modernisation Roadmap (2026-2029), which aims to deliver a citizen-centered, flexible, integrated and innovative public sector through 111 projects implemented by 20 government entities.

The minister said the programme focuses on translating reforms into tangible improvements for Jordanians, enhancing government efficiency, expanding the use of artificial intelligence in public administration, improving spending efficiency and monitoring progress through a national public sector modernisation index.

Balbisi reaffirmed Jordan's readiness to support Palestine in public sector modernisation, reflecting the strong ties between the two countries.

Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission Vice President Jamal Qash, who headed the delegation, praised Jordan's experience. He called for exchanging expertise and noted that the visit focused on legislation, including the Right to Information Law, as well as justice and administrative reform.

The delegation received presentation from Suhair Kayed, adviser to the Transparent Government Unit at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, on Jordan's participation in the Open Government Partnership (OGP).

Kayed said Jordan, the first Arab country to join the initiative in 2011, has implemented five national action plans and is finalising its sixth for 2025-2029.

Kayed highlighted achievements under the initiative, including the launch of the "Tawasul" e-participation platform, a national integrity index, an open government data policy, a human rights complaints mechanism on the "Bikhedmatkom" platform, and expanded digital government services.
