31/ Aqaba Blue Beach Receives Fourth Blue Flag Accreditation

Aqaba, July 15 (Petra) – Blue Beach in the Aqaba Marine Reserve on Wednesday received the Blue Flag certificate for the fourth consecutive time, reaffirming its compliance with international standards for water quality, environmental management, safety, services, and environmental awareness.

The Blue Flag program is one of the world’s leading environmental accreditation programs and is awarded to beaches and marinas that meet strict criteria supporting eco-tourism and sustainable coastal management.

Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Chief Commissioner Shadi Majali patronized the certificate handover and flag-raising ceremony, which was attended by the commissioner for environment and public safety, representatives of the Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan, members of the National Blue Flag Committee, directors, officials, partner organizations, and environmental stakeholders.

According to a statement, the ASEZA said the renewed accreditation reflects its commitment to applying best environmental practices, protecting beaches and the marine environment, and promoting integrated coastal zone management in line with its vision to preserve natural resources and biodiversity.

The ASEZA stated that the achievement highlights Blue Beach as a leading national model and strengthens Aqaba’s position as a regional and international destination for marine and eco-tourism.
