18/ Hashemite University Opens Graduate Program Applications
Zarqa, July 15 (Petra) -- The Hashemite University (HU) has begun accepting applications for graduate programs for the first semester of the 2026/2027 academic year. Admissions are now open for doctoral, Master's and higher diploma programs under the regular track for Jordanian students and the international scheme for non-Jordanians, as applications will be accepted through July 28. In a statement, Dean of Graduate Studies Khalid Sarayreh said the university offers a "broad" range of graduate programs across multiple disciplines to meet local and regional labor market needs and promote scientific research and academic excellence. He said the university offers a PhD in Arabic language and literature, as well as a Master's programs in Arabic language and literature (literature and criticism), peace and conflict studies, cybersecurity, software engineering, business administration (production and operations), investment and finance, accounting and finance. He added that the university also offers Master's programs in sports management, nursing, pharmaceutical sciences, mathematics, biological sciences, applied physics, chemistry, educational administration, psychological counseling, educational psychology, curricula and teaching methods, medical nutrition and food safety, and medical laboratory sciences. Additional master's programs include tourism and heritage site management and development, early childhood education, special education for early childhood, climate change and dryland sustainability, applied geology, environmental science and management, crisis and disaster management, biomedical engineering, secure intelligent computer systems engineering, civil engineering, architecture and electrical engineering. The university also offers higher diploma programs in school administration and teacher preparation, he pointed out. Meanwhile, Sarayreh said applications for the Higher Diploma in Teacher Preparation are open to both self-funded students and those sponsored by the Ministry of Education. He said applicants to Master's and doctoral programs must hold a Bachelor's degree with a minimum grade of "good" from a recognized university and have completed their studies through regular enrollment. He stated doctoral applicants must also hold a Master's degree with a minimum grade of "good" from a recognized university and have completed both degrees through regular enrollment. He added that applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in a discipline that qualifies their entry for their intended program, although some exceptional cases may be considered under university regulations. Applicants may also be required to obtain approval from the relevant authority and, for Jordanian graduates of non-Jordanian universities, have their degrees officially accredited. Regarding English language requirements, Sarayreh said applicants must achieve the minimum score in one of the proficiency tests approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The test, he noted, must have been taken within the past two years at an accredited testing center. Students who do not meet the required score may enroll in a six-credit remedial English program offered by the university. He added that non-Jordanian applicants to the international program must submit their applications through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's "Study in Jordan" platform. //Petra// NQ
