56/ Jordan, Azerbaijan discuss civil aviation cooperation and direct flights
Amman, July 14 (Petra) -- The Chief Commissioner and CEO of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Captain Daifallah Al-Farajat, met on Tuesday with the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Jordan, Shahin Abdullayev, to discuss boosting bilateral relations in civil aviation and air transport. The two sides discussed operational challenges facing their respective national carriers, reviewing practical solutions to overcome these obstacles and ensure smooth, continuous operations to serve mutual interests. The meeting also focused on joint marketing efforts to promote Jordan as an attractive tourist destination for Azerbaijani citizens. In this context, officials explored potential cooperation and network-linking opportunities between Azerbaijan Airlines and Royal Jordanian. This follows Azerbaijan Airlines' recent launch of a weekly flight connecting Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku with Amman City Airport. Jordan and Azerbaijan are linked by an "Open Skies" air transport agreement, which serves as the foundation for expanding air traffic and facilitating passenger travel between the two countries. //Petra// AF
