43/ Jordan, EU launch land management twinning project
Amman, July 13 (Petra) - Finance Minister Abdul Hakim Shibli launched on Monday a €1.6 million (nearly JD1.3 million) EU-funded twinning project to strengthen Jordan’s land management framework and drive sustainable economic growth. The initiative pairs Jordanian priorities with public sector expertise from Croatia, the Netherlands, and Spain to improve public services, and secure property transactions to spur investment and entrepreneurship, according to Shibli. He added that better land-use planning would support housing, agriculture, and food security while helping the Kingdom address climate change and environmental challenges. The project reinforces the strong Jordan-EU partnership, Shibli said, adding that it advances joint efforts to modernize public administration and boost government efficiency. The launch event was attended by EU Ambassador Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, diplomats, and international officials. //Petra// HA
