New York, July 12 (Petra) -- United Nations Secretary-General Ant?nio Guterres expressed condolences over the passing of former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

In a statement issued on his behalf on Sunday, Guterres described the late emir as "a visionary leader who transformed the course of his country and its people."
