42/ Jerash Festival debuts open-air Art Walk
Amman, July 12 (Petra) - The 40th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts will introduce the Art Walk for the first time, transforming the ancient city's Cardo (Colonnaded Street) into an open-air gallery showcasing Jordanian artists, according to organizers on Sunday. The initiative seeks to expand artistic activities throughout the archaeological site, said the festival planners, creating more opportunities for direct interaction between visitors and local artists. Rather than limiting performances and exhibitions to the festival's main venues, "the Art Walk will bring visual art into the heart of the ancient city," making it an integral part of the visitor experience. The festival said the new space will provide Jordanian artists with a platform to engage with audiences in one of Jerash's most visited landmarks while showcasing the diversity of the Kingdom's cultural scene. //Petra// HN
