Amman, July 12 (Petra) – Firefighting and ambulance teams from the Aqaba Civil Defence Directorate responded Sunday to a house fire in the Al-Shalala area of ??Aqaba Governorate.

The Public Security Directorate (PSD) media office stated: "The fire resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to her two children due to smoke inhalation."

It said that firefighting teams extinguished and controlled the blaze, while ambulance crews evacuated the deceased and transported the children to the hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
