19/ Jordan Briefs Prominent International Delegation on Regional Security, Peace Efforts

Amman, July 12 (Petra) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi on Sunday briefed a delegation from The Elders, an independent organization of global leaders working to resolve conflicts through peaceful means, on regional developments and Jordan's efforts to restore security and stability.

The delegation included former Irish President Mary Robinson, former New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark, The Elders Deputy Chair Graça Machel and human rights activist Hina Jilani.

Safadi also reviewed developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, stressing the need to consolidate the Gaza ceasefire and implement all provisions of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan.

He warned of Israel's illegal measures in the occupied West Bank, saying they undermine the two-state solution and prospects for achieving a just and comprehensive peace. He stressed the need for coordinated international efforts to halt those measures.

Safadi also outlined Jordan's efforts to promote regional security and stability and address crises through dialogue, peaceful means, and in accordance with international law.
