Amman, July 12 (Petra) – The Jordan Marathon Association (Run Jordan) on Sunday announced that registration is officially open for the inaugural Madaba Mosaic Race 2026.

The sporting event will take place on Friday, July 31, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Firas bin Raad, Chairman of Run Jordan, and in cooperation with the Madaba Municipality, with backing from the Greater Amman Municipality and the Jordan Athletics Federation (JAF).

The launch of the race aligns with the association's vision to boost sports tourism and highlight Madaba’s historical and cultural heritage. The athletic event offers participants the chance to run past the city's prominent historical and religious landmarks, blending physical fitness with tourism and culture.

The race features two distinct distances: 10 kilometers and 5 kilometers. The 10km race will flag off from the Mount Nebo site, while the 5km race will start from the Faisaliyah area. Both courses are mapped out to guide runners through scenic tourist routes before concluding at the Madaba Visitors Center.

Run Jordan invited male and female runners from both inside Jordan and abroad to sign up for the debut edition of the race, noting that the event welcomes participants of all athletic levels, including professional runners and fitness enthusiasts.

Lina El Kurd, Director General of Run Jordan, stated that launching the first Madaba Mosaic Race represents a new milestone in the association’s journey to deliver high-quality sporting events that introduce Jordanian cities to a global audience and elevate the country's profile in regional sports tourism.

She added that the race offers a comprehensive experience that combines physical activity with cultural discovery, noting that the association looks forward to welcoming participants of all ages and nationalities.
The association stated that registration is open online through the official website at https://registration.runjordan.com/, as well as via the designated registration QR code.

Run Jordan encouraged running enthusiasts to register early and prepare for this unique experience that merges sports, history, and culture in one of Jordan's most ancient cities.
