Amman, July 8 (Petra) – The Ministry of Health on Wednesday launched a unified national cancer treatment protocol for the Kingdom's public healthcare sector, introducing 26 clinical guidelines to standardize care, improve treatment quality, and ensure equal access to cancer services nationwide.

The protocol advances cancer care governance by setting a "single, evidence-based" national standard, according to Minister of Health Ibrahim Bdour.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Bdour said the protocol will support clinical decision-making, unify treatment practices across public health institutions, improve patient safety, and promote efficient use of healthcare resources.

The step will ensure patients receive the same evidence-based treatment regardless of where they are treated, Bdour added, boosting equity and confidence in the public healthcare system.

As for its scope, he noted the protocol unifies the national framework for cancer care among the Ministry of Health, the Jordanian Royal Medical Services, the King Hussein Cancer Center, university hospitals, and other healthcare institutions.

The code was designed as a flexible scientific document that will be reviewed and updated regularly to reflect the latest medical evidence and international best practices, he pointed out.

He stated the project's success depends on "consistent" implementation across healthcare institutions and continued collaboration among partners.
