30/ National exports grow 9.1% during first 11 months of 2025

Amman, January 27 (Petra) National exports rose by 9.1% during the first 11 months of 2025, compared with the same period in 2024, according to the Department of Statistics (DoS') monthly report on Jordan's foreign trade.

The report showed an 8.8% increase in re-exports over the same period, alongside a 9.7% rise in imports.

According to figures monitored by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the total value of foreign trade reached JD 9.55 billion, including JD 8.694 billion in national exports and JD 856 million in re-exports, while imports totaled JD 18.938 billion during the same period.

The ratio of total exports to imports stood at 50%, compared with 51% during the same period in 2024. For November 2025 alone, the ratio rose to 60%, up from 48% in November 2024 an increase of 12 percentage points.

Total exports in November 2025 amounted to JD 962 million, including JD 888 million in domestic exports and JD 74 million in re-exports, while imports reached JD 1.592 billion.

Compared with November 2024, total exports increased by 22.7%, domestic exports by 24.5% and re-exports by 4.2%, while imports declined by 1.7%. As a result, the trade deficit narrowed by 24.6%.

The report indicated that growth in national exports was driven mainly by increases in nitrogenous and chemical fertilisers, precious jewelry, pharmaceuticals, raw phosphate and raw potash.

The growth helped support overall export performance despite a slight decline in exports of clothing and related manufactured goods.

On the import side, increases were recorded in vehicles and bicycles, precious jewelry, machinery and mechanical appliances, electrical machinery and equipment and grains.

Meanwhile, a decline in crude oil and its derivatives contributed to a reduction in imports.

The report showed an increase in national exports to Greater Arab Free Trade Area countries, including Syria, where exports surged by 351%, as well as to non-Arab Asian countries such as India and European Union countries, including Italy.

In contrast, national exports to North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) countries, including the United States, declined slightly.

As for imports, increases were recorded from Greater Arab Free Trade Area countries, including Saudi Arabia, NAFTA countries such as the United States, non-Arab Asian countries including China and European Union countries such as Germany.
