26/ LH Speaker, Chinese Ambassador Discuss Strengthening Parliamentary, Trade Ties
Amman, Jan. 27 (Petra) -- Speaker of the Lower House (LH) of Representatives, Mazen Qadi, on Tuesday met with Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Guo Wei to explore ways to enhance cooperation, particularly in parliamentary affairs. In a meeting held at the House's headquarters, Qadi emphasized the deputies' "commitment" to strengthening joint parliamentary relations to serve common interests, underlining the importance of boosting mutual trade exchanges. Qadi also reaffirmed Jordan’s appreciation for China’s support for the two-state solution as "a guarantee" of the Palestinian people’s rights. Ambassador Guo, in turn, highlighted the "deep-rooted and strong" Jordan-China relations across various sectors, adding that Beijing will host the China-Arab Summit mid-year, a key event for advancing ties.
