33/ Jordan to launch new investment projects
Amman, January 26 (Petra) Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan said Jordan is preparing a new package of investment projects to be launched in 2026, with key outcomes to be announced at the Jordanian-European Investment Conference, slated for April 21–22 at the Dead Sea. Speaking during a high-level dialogue session at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels, Toukan said the initiative is part of efforts to deepen the strategic and comprehensive partnership with the EU and build on the European support package announced earlier this year. She noted that the partnership, backed by up to €3 billion in financial support and €1.4 billion in European financing instruments, aims to translate cooperation into concrete economic and development projects. Preparations for the investment conference are being carried out with the EU to highlight Jordan's investment advantages, including its stability, infrastructure, location and skilled workforce. Toukan added that the Brussels visit marked the launch of a European promotional tour to attract European companies and encourage investment in Jordan, supported by guarantees, grants and risk-mitigation tools. EU Commissioner for the Mediterranean Dubravka Šuica said the EU views Jordan as a reliable and stable partner, adding that supporting the Kingdom aligns with European interests in promoting regional stability and investing in human capital. //Petra// AK
