Amman, Jan. 24 (Petra) - Parliamentary committees affirmed that the royal directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to prepare a comprehensive strategy and roadmap for the structural transformation of the Jordanian Armed Forces the Arab Army mark a pivotal step in comprehensive modernization. They said the directives reflect visionary leadership, strengthen military readiness, and ensure the army can keep pace with evolving security and technological challenges, thereby safeguarding Jordan’s security and stability.

The committees noted that the royal directives embody His Majesty’s wise vision to enhance the operational and professional efficiency of the armed forces, align them with current regional and international security challenges, and reinforce their ability to perform national duties effectively.

The Parliamentary Transport and Services Committee, in a press statement, said the directives reflect a deep strategic vision that demonstrates the King’s continuous commitment to enhancing the Arab Army’s readiness and capabilities, enabling it to meet evolving security and military threats and rapid developments in modern warfare.

The committee highlighted that the King’s focus on modernization, building flexible and advanced armed forces, strengthening cyber capabilities, and employing artificial intelligence, alongside supporting national defense industries, contributes to Jordan’s resilience and consolidates the concept of strategic deterrence.

It stressed that the Arab Army will remain the nation’s stronghold and guardian, emphasizing that investing in human resources, technology, and good governance is fundamental to maintaining the armed forces’ strength and stature regionally and internationally.

Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Palestine Committee affirmed that the royal directives for upgrading and developing the armed forces reflect the King’s wisdom and foresight, ensuring that Jordan’s army remains a symbol of pride, heroism, and dedication, with its members standing firm to protect the nation and its achievements.

The committee added in a statement that with the royal directives, they fully support all measures to enhance the army’s modern capabilities, from advanced weaponry to cyber defense and artificial intelligence technologies, ensuring it remains a loyal guardian of the homeland and its people.

It concluded, "Guided by His Majesty’s vision, our Arab Army will continue to be Jordan’s fortified shield and strong defense, a symbol of courage, loyalty, and discipline, standing tall against challenges and a source of pride for all Jordanians."
