12/ Int'l Day of Education: 'Jordan made qualitative milestones in meeting demands of times'
Amman, Jan 24 (Petra) – Jordan marks International Day of Education, which this year focuses on the theme "The power of youth in co-creating education." Over the past few years, the Jordanian education system has seen remarkable development in the integration of modern technology and artificial intelligence, through expansion of blended and e-learning, and the use of digital platforms. "Celebrating this day, which falls on January 24th each year, is a reaffirmation that education is a solid foundation for building individuals and shaping the future, and is a true investment for the advancement of nations and the sustainability of development," said Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Scientific Research, Azmi Mahafza. The Ministry, he said, continues to work on developing a comprehensive and modern education system focused on quality, innovation, and equal opportunity, in partnership with families and the community. He pointed to achievements in the sector, thanks to the wise Hashemite vision and the continuous efforts to develop and improve the quality of education, enhance students' skills to meet the demands of the times and contribute to preparing a generation capable of innovation and competition. The minister thanked the educational and administrative staff and parents, who are partners in the education process, pledging the ministry's commitment to achieving quality education that "broadens horizons and fosters hope." According to Ministry of Education data, there are 7,779 schools across all sectors, educating more than 2 million students, with 168,054 teachers and 30,763 administrators. //Petra//SS
