2/ Cold weather conditions forecast countrywide for today, tomorrow - JMDÂ
Amman, Jan. 23 (Petra)-- Temperatures will rise on Friday to hover around their seasonal averages, with partly cloudy skies and generally cold conditions across most parts of the Kingdom, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD). Weather will be slightly cool in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. The JMD said scattered rain showers are expected during the morning hours in various regions, while westerly winds will be moderate, occasionally becoming active. The department warned of occasional reduced horizontal visibility due to dust, particularly in desert areas, as well as the risk of slippery roads in locations experiencing rainfall. On Saturday, temperatures are forecast to drop slightly. The weather will remain cold in most areas and slightly cool in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with clouds appearing at different altitudes. There is a chance of light, intermittent rain in northern regions and parts of the southeastern areas for short periods. Winds will be northwesterly and moderate, with occasional gusts. On Sunday, conditions will stay cold across most regions and slightly cool in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. High-altitude clouds are expected, with light and variable winds. A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Monday. The weather will remain cold in most areas and pleasant in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with high clouds and moderate southeasterly winds that may become active at times. Temperatures in the capital Amman will range between a high of 11 degrees Celsius, and a low of 3 degrees.
