27/ Meeting held to enhance Amman-Cairo Urban Cooperation
Cairo, Jan. 22 (Petra) -- Jordan’s Ambassador to Egypt Amjad Adaileh met with Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber to discuss cooperation in urban development and local administration. Talking at the meeting, Adaileh stressed Jordan’s commitment to its "deep-rooted" relations with Egypt, guided by both countries' leadership and supported by their governments. Adaileh also called for strengthening partnership and expanding cooperation between Cairo Governorate and Greater Amman Municipality, within the framework of ongoing coordination between Jordanian and Egyptian official institutions. For his part, Saber highlighted the "historic" depth of brotherly bilateral relations, which continue to grow and develop, serving as a "distinguished model of joint Arab cooperation." The meeting reviewed ways to activate provisions of the friendship and cooperation agreement signed between Cairo Governorate and Greater Amman Municipality in 2015, as a practical framework for institutional cooperation and exchange of expertise in local governance. Both sides underlined the need to share expertise in infrastructure, local services, urban management, climate change adaptation, and improving quality of life in cities. //Petra// NQ
