40/ OpenAI Global lists Jordan in 'Education for Nations' initiative
Davos, January 21 (Petra) OpenAI Global on Wednesday announced the inclusion of Jordan in its "Education for Nations" initiative, which aims to help countries build education systems and workforces prepared for the future labour market through the use of AI. The announcement was made during the company’s participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. OpenAI said it would collaborate with several governments and university associations to integrate ai into education systems, with the goal of enhancing learning outcomes and better preparing students for the job market. The first group of participants in the initiative, alongside Jordan, includes Estonia, Greece, the Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities (CRUI), Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Trinidad and Tobago and the United Arab Emirates. The company said that studies indicate that by 2030, around 40% of the core skills required by today's workforce would change as a result of advances in artificial intelligence. It explained that embedding AI tools, training and research into the core infrastructure of schools and universities would enable education systems to adapt to these transformations and better equip students for success in an AI-driven world. In a related context, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and OpenAI signed a partnership agreement to support the "Siraj" smart educational assistant, a project of the National Council for Future Technology. The project was launched on a pilot basis in line with directives by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to leverage technology to improve educational outcomes. The Ministry of Education launched the Siraj smart educational assistant on a pilot basis at the beginning of October. Siraj is an AI-powered educational tool that allows students and teachers to ask questions and receive accurate, curriculum-based responses, supported by clear documentation for each answer, thereby contributing to the improvement of the educational process. According to statistics, more than 200,000 teachers and students used the smart assistant during the project's development phase, generating over one million interactions. //Petra// AK
