Amman, Jan. 19 (Petra) -- Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez on Monday held talks with Canadian Ambassador to Jordan Louis-Martin Aumais, focusing on strengthening Jordanian–Canadian relations and expanding cooperation across a range of sectors.

During the meeting at the Senate headquarters, Al-Fayez praised the advanced level of relations between the two countries, noting that Jordanian–Canadian ties are based on mutual respect and the promotion of shared interests that benefit both nations and their peoples.

He emphasized the Senate’s commitment to strengthening parliamentary cooperation and supporting initiatives that open new avenues for bilateral engagement, particularly by activating existing agreements and encouraging economic and investment partnerships.

The talks also addressed regional developments, with Al-Fayez stressing the need for concrete international action to ensure Israel’s full compliance with the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, describing such steps as essential to advancing peace and stability in the region.

For his part, Ambassador Louis-Martin Aumais expressed Canada’s appreciation for the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II to promote peace through political solutions and constructive dialogue, highlighting the King’s role in supporting regional security and stability.
