11/ Jordanian Economic Delegation to Visit Riyadh to Boost Investment Cooperation
Amman, Jan. 19 (Petra) – A Jordanian economic delegation is set to visit the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Tuesday as part of efforts to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between Jordan and Saudi Arabia and expand partnership opportunities between the private sectors in both countries. The delegation, headed by Chairperson of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Commerce Khalil Haj Tawfiq, includes representatives from commercial, service, industrial, and agricultural sectors. It also comprises heads of chambers of commerce from various governorates, representatives of economic sectors, heads of unions, and a number of Jordanian businesspeople and investors. Haj Tawfiq said the visit will feature a meeting of the Saudi-Jordanian Joint Business Council, aimed at advancing trade and investment relations and moving them toward a more advanced phase based on the implementation of joint projects and direct production partnerships. As head of the Jordanian side of the council, Haj Tawfiq said the body serves as an established strategic platform for economic dialogue between the two countries. He highlighted the role of His Majesty King Abdullah II and King Salman bin Abdulaziz in strengthening relations and fostering a supportive environment for the growth of economic and investment cooperation across various sectors. He said the meeting represents a milestone in the course of Jordanian-Saudi economic relations and a starting point for a more integrated and effective phase, built on shared interests and promising opportunities in key sectors. Haj Tawfiq noted that the visit’s agenda includes specialized meetings of committees affiliated with the Joint Business Council, covering various sectors. The meetings aim to identify challenges, explore investment opportunities, and develop practical mechanisms to enhance cooperation in each sector. The visit will also include a Saudi-Jordanian Business Forum with broad participation from companies and investors from both sides. The forum will present available investment opportunities and projects, familiarize Jordanian companies with the Saudi business environment, and outline investment incentives and regulatory frameworks. In addition, business-to-business meetings will be held on the sidelines of the forum to facilitate direct commercial engagement, support the formation of investment partnerships, and pave the way for the signing of potential agreements and memoranda of understanding. The visit comes as part of ongoing efforts by the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and private sector institutions to strengthen the presence of Jordanian companies in the Saudi market and capitalize on opportunities generated by major projects and rapid economic transformation under Saudi Vision 2030, in line with Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision and its objectives of stimulating investment, boosting exports, and creating job opportunities. //Petra// AJ
