35/ First phase of "Together We Grow" workshops for orphan care providers launched

Amman, Jan. 18 (Petra) - The first phase of the "Together We Grow" series of workshops was launched on Sunday, organized by the Jordan Football Association (JFA) in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development and with support from the West Asian Football Federation Foundation for Development, and will continue until next Thursday.

The workshop is implemented under the supervision of lecturers Ibrahim Helmi, Murshid Fatafta, Abdul Fattah Al-Shadfan, and Fatima Al-Masaeed, with workshop coordinator Walid Hamed, and with the participation of 12 male and female care providers from nine care homes for orphans and children without family support participating in the project from the central, northern, and southern regions of the Kingdom.

The first phase of the workshop includes theoretical and practical components covering the basics of football coaching and how to create a training unit, designing an educational session and linking it to the curriculum, feedback, as well as how to deal with children and build trust with the coach, and learning child protection policies and the most vulnerable groups, contributing to developing participants’ capacities to plan and practically implement training sessions in a systematic and effective manner.

The implementation of the training component within the first phase comes in line with the project’s objectives of enhancing technical skills and methods of dealing with children among care providers, preparing them to transition in a studied manner to the subsequent stages of the project, and raising their efficiency through specialized training and qualification.

The project, which runs until next year, targets around 100 orphans and children without family support in care homes through practicing football to develop their life and social skills, spread joy, and enable them to express themselves, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The holding of the series of workshops comes as part of the Jordan Football Association’s efforts to strengthen aspects of social responsibility through the implementation of a range of ongoing projects, alongside numerous events and diverse activities to highlight the role of sport as a vital sector and to shed light on key issues and challenges across various sectors.
