8/ Amman Chamber of Commerce Exports Record 4.8% Growth in 2025

Amman, Jan. 13 (Petra) -- The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) reported a notable expansion in export activity during 2025, with the total value of certificates of origin issued for shipments to Arab and international markets rising by 4.8% year-on-year, underscoring strengthening trade performance and positive momentum in the national economy.

According to official statistical data released by the ACC and obtained by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the value of exports facilitated through Amman’s trade sector reached JD 1.431 billion in 2025, compared with JD 1.365 billion in 2024. The increase reflects improved external demand, greater market diversification, and sustained commercial activity across key sectors.

The volume of trade transactions also expanded, as the number of certificates of origin issued by the Chamber grew by 6.9% to 40,945 certificates in 2025, up from 38,302 certificates in the previous year, indicating higher export throughput and broader participation by exporters.

In terms of destination markets, Iraq remained Jordan’s largest export partner by value, accounting for approximately JD 629 million and 3,545 certificates of origin. Switzerland ranked second with exports valued at about JD 134 million, despite a limited number of certificates, highlighting the high unit value of shipments.

Saudi Arabia followed with exports worth JD 104 million across 10,021 certificates, while Egypt recorded exports of nearly JD 96 million through 999 certificates. The United Arab Emirates ranked fifth, with exports valued at JD 84 million and 4,259 certificates. Collectively, these markets represented the largest share of Jordan’s export value during the year.

From a sectoral perspective, foreign-origin goods re-exported through Jordan constituted the largest component of trade, with a value of JD 687 million. Industrial exports totaled JD 254 million, reflecting the contribution of the manufacturing sector to trade growth, while agricultural exports reached approximately JD 185 million. Exports of Arab-origin goods amounted to nearly JD 125 million, with the remainder attributed to other product categories.

The ACC emphasized that certificates of origin play a critical role in international trade by verifying the country of production or processing of goods, enabling customs authorities to apply appropriate tariff treatment and ensure compliance with trade regulations.

The Chamber continues to issue certificates for Jordanian agricultural, animal, industrial, and raw natural resource products, as well as for foreign goods re-exported or sourced locally under regulated conditions, in accordance with applicable trade legislation and regulatory frameworks.
