69/ Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon discuss youth cooperation, sports governance

Amman, Jan 12 (Petra) - Minister of Youth Raed Adwan discussed on Monday with his Egyptian counterpart Ashraf Sobhy and Lebanese Minister of Youth and Sports Nour Bayraqdarian cooperation in managing youth programs, sports centers, facilities, and club governance.

The meeting, held on the sidelines of the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports meetings in Cairo, reviewed challenges facing Arab youth and means to enhance joint Arab action to address them.

Adwan emphasized the importance of developing Arab youth work mechanisms to meet the needs of young people and enhance their participation in development. He highlighted Jordan's keenness to exchange successful experiences and develop joint programs that align with youth aspirations and empower them across political, economic, social, cultural, and sports sectors.

The gathering provided an opportunity to strengthen trilateral cooperation pathways through the development of joint Arab youth programs designed to build capacity and transform shared challenges into sustainable development opportunities for Arab societies.

Adwan was also briefed on the Egyptian experience in managing youth and sports facilities and club governance. Accompanied by his Egyptian and Lebanese counterparts, he toured the Egyptian ministry’s building in the New Administrative Capital to view the latest technological and administrative capabilities.

The tour included visits to The "Nadi" Club and the First Settlement Youth Center, where the delegation reviewed sports and recreational services provided to the community, as well as programs promoting sports culture and a healthy environment for various age groups.
