Amman, Jan. 12 (Petra) -- Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Monday welcomed United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix and an accompanying delegation at the General Command headquarters.

They reviewed efforts to enhance security and stability in the region and joint cooperation and coordination in fields of common interest.

Huneiti said Jordan’s participation in international peacekeeping operations reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting international peace and security, upholding international legitimacy, and protecting civilians in conflict zones.

Lacroix thanked Jordan for joining peacekeeping efforts, praising the professionalism and efficiency of the Jordanian Armed Forces and their standing as a reliable and effective partner in UN missions.
