Amman, Jan. 12 (Petra) – Public Security Director Major General Obaidullah Maaytah met Monday at his office with United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix and his delegation to discuss areas of joint cooperation and coordination to enhance security, stability, and support humanitarian and community initiatives.

Maaytah highlighted the significance of the existing collaboration between the Public Security Directorate and the United Nations, encompassing a range of security and service programs aligned with sustainable development objectives. He stressed the importance of continuing to develop specialized partnerships on strong institutional foundations, which bolster the national security framework and enhance the capabilities of personnel participating in international peacekeeping missions.

Lacroix praised the Public Security Directorate’s advanced and strategic approach in strengthening cooperation with the United Nations, noting that it reflects a clear vision aimed at supporting the justice system and promoting security and stability across all levels.
