12/ Palestinian ambassador commends King’s efforts to halt war on Gaza
Amman, Jan. 7 (Petra) -- Palestinian Ambassador to Amman Attallah Khairy praised His Majesty King Abdullah II’s continued efforts since the start of the war on Gaza to stop the aggression and end the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Strip, which has continued for the third consecutive year. In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Khairy commended Jordan’s firm and unwavering positions, led by His Majesty the King, the government, and the people, in support of the Palestinian people and their inalienable and just rights, including the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on their national soil with Jerusalem as its capital. Khairy said Jordan is exerting extensive efforts at the regional and international levels and is playing a pivotal role politically, diplomatically, and humanitarianly to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza as a result of the ongoing war on Gaza for the third year. He noted that Jordan continues to receive successive groups of sick and injured Palestinian children from the Gaza Strip to provide medical, therapeutic, psychological, and moral care in Jordanian hospitals, adding that Jordan offers the children and their companions all necessary care during treatment. He said Jordanian medical teams provide comprehensive medical attention and work to ensure the children’s recovery and safe return home. The ambassador said Jordan, under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, is continuing efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the people of the Gaza Strip amid a suffocating Israeli siege, using all available means, by air and land. Khairy stressed that His Majesty the King spares no effort to stop the war on the Palestinian people and to open pathways toward achieving peace and stability in the region. He expressed the appreciation of the Palestinian people and their leadership to His Majesty the King, the government, and the Jordanian people for their continued support of Palestinian rights and for Jordan’s sustained efforts aimed at establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital on Palestinian national soil. //Petra// AJ
