Balqa, Feb 23 (Petra)- The National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) discussed on Monday innovative projects in the agricultural sector as part of efforts to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in agriculture within the Economic Modernization Vision and achieve sustainable agricultural development.

Four specialized entrepreneurial applications submitted to the agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship incubator were reviewed in the areas of alternative fodder production relying on climate-smart agriculture technologies, submitted by Engineer Khaldoun Al-Zubi.

The projects also included the production of a smart and environmentally friendly agricultural container submitted by Engineer Mohammad Muhaisen, a project for producing wild artichoke (akoub) through the development of sustainable production models for economically valuable wild plants submitted by Engineer Montather Al-Twalbeh, and the development of a digital application for animal health – poultry diseases – submitted by Engineer Anas Al-Bitar.

NARC Director General Ibrahim Mohammad Al-Rawashdeh confirmed that the center, through the Agricultural Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubator, is dedicated to strengthening the agricultural innovation system. It supports technology-based agricultural projects, promotes digital transformation, and fosters the green economy. These efforts contribute to improving production efficiency and enhancing national food security.

Al-Rawashdeh added that these projects represent an effective model of partnership between scientific research entities and the private sector, contributing to accelerating the adoption of agricultural innovations, stimulating youth entrepreneurship and creating quality employment opportunities in rural Jordan, thereby consolidating concepts of sustainability, climate resilience and competitiveness in the agricultural sector.
