2/ Mild Weather Set to Continue Until Tuesday, Slight Cooling Expected Wednesday
Amman, Feb. 8 (Petra) -- Mild weather conditions are expected to continue across most regions until Tuesday, providing a window of settled conditions before temperatures dip slightly midweek, the Jordan Meteorological Department said. According to the department, Sunday will see mild temperatures prevail in most areas, while warmer conditions continue in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. High-level clouds are expected, with moderate southwesterly winds becoming active at times and raising dust, particularly in Badia areas. The same pattern is forecast to hold on Monday and Tuesday, with mild conditions persisting across most regions and continued warmth in low-lying areas. Medium- and high-level cloud cover is expected to remain in place, accompanied by intermittent southwesterly winds that may stir dust in desert regions. A shift is forecast for Wednesday, when temperatures are expected to edge lower. Weather conditions will turn relatively cooler across most regions, while remaining relatively warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Clouds are expected at various altitudes, with a chance of light rain showers during the afternoon hours in parts of the northern, central and eastern regions. Westerly winds are forecast to blow at moderate speeds, becoming active at times. For Sunday, temperatures in eastern Amman are expected to range between 20 C and 13 C, compared with 18 C to 11 C in western Amman. The northern highlands will see temperatures of 17 C to 11 C, while the Sharah highlands are forecast to record between 18 C and 10 C. In the Badia, temperatures are expected to reach 24 C during the day and fall to 11 C at night, while plains areas will see readings between 20 C and 13 C. Low-lying areas will remain the warmest, with temperatures expected to range between 27 C and 15 C in the northern Jordan Valley and 29 C and 17 C in the south. The Dead Sea area is forecast to record temperatures of 28 C to 16 C, while Aqaba will see highs of 28 C and lows of 19 C. //Petra// RZ
