27/ Jordanian Startup "EVO" Develops Local App for Managing EV Charging

Amman, Feb 7 (Petra) - Co-founder and CEO of the EVO application, Ibrahim Al Bawaliz, said the company has developed a Jordanian model for managing electric vehicle (EV) charging through the application.

In a statement on Saturday, Al Bawaliz said EVO was designed to provide an integrated experience that brings together multiple services in a carefully crafted interface, placing users at the center of the process. He noted that the company’s team focused on delivering a distinctive user experience in both design and development.

He explained that the app is part of the company’s vision to establish a smart, unified network for charging electric vehicles in Jordan, serving as a launch point for a future global application aligned with the latest EV technologies.

Al Bawaliz said the app enables users to instantly check charger availability, whether occupied or free, and allows them to enter their vehicle type, enabling the system to automatically filter compatible chargers, saving time and effort and avoiding unsuitable options.

He added that the app offers a strong competitive advantage by allowing users to remotely monitor charging sessions and access a complete record of previous charging operations with full details. This enhances transparency and helps users manage their energy consumption more efficiently. The app also provides information on available facilities at each charging station and allows filtering based on these amenities, turning charging into a comprehensive service experience.

He noted that the interactive map is one of the app’s key features, enabling users to easily locate all charging stations and identify the nearest compatible one with a single click, without the need for searching or guesswork. This reflects a deep understanding of user behavior and needs.

Al- Bawaliz said that within just one and a half years of operation, EVO has integrated hundreds of chargers into the local market. The app has recorded more than 800,000 charging sessions, with total energy exceeding 10 million kilowatt-hours, without any service interruptions. He said these figures demonstrate not only high usage but also the platform’s technical maturity and operational stability and its ability to function under heavy demand without compromising service quality.
