3/ Jordanians Mark Loyalty, Allegiance Day, Honoring King Hussein, Renewing Pledge to King Abdullah II
Amman, Feb. 6 (Petra)-- Jordanians will commemorate on Saturday, February 7, the 27th anniversary of Loyalty and Allegiance Day, honoring the late King Hussein bin Talal may he rest in peace and renewing their allegiance to His Majesty King Abdullah II. On this national occasion, Jordanians recall the legacy of the founding King Hussein, whose 47-year reign laid the foundations of the modern Jordanian state, while reaffirming their commitment to continuing the path of progress and modernization under the leadership of King Abdullah II, ensuring that Jordan remains a beacon of security, stability, and advancement. Since assuming his constitutional powers, King Abdullah II’s royal directives and initiatives have focused on improving citizens’ quality of life and strengthening development across the Kingdom, particularly through parallel political, economic, and administrative modernization tracks, while enhancing Jordan’s capacity to confront challenges. At the international level, His Majesty has firmly entrenched Jordan’s role in promoting global stability. The year 2025 was marked by intensive royal meetings and visits to major world capitals, contributing to the strengthening of solid economic partnerships with brotherly and friendly nations. In line with Jordan’s responsibilities toward its Arab brethren, the Kingdom has continued to defend the causes of the Arab and Islamic nations, foremost among them the Palestinian cause. On Loyalty and Allegiance Day, the Speakers of the Senate and the Lower House spoke to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) about the depth of the strong bond between the Hashemite leadership and the Jordanian people one rooted in loyalty, love, pride, and confidence in national achievements. Senate Speaker Faisal Al-Fayez said that as the Jordanian family commemorates Loyalty and Allegiance Day, it recalls a rich legacy of giving and achievement on the anniversary of the passing of the founding King Hussein bin Talal a legacy of pride and honor. He added that this journey continues across all fields under the reign of King Abdullah II, who has carried the Hashemite banner with determination and high resolve, advancing nation-building, development, and comprehensive modernization in its political, economic, and administrative dimensions to build a Jordan capable of facing challenges with courage and unwavering determination. Al-Fayez affirmed the Senate’s pride in His Majesty’s efforts to consolidate Jordan’s role at the Arab and international levels, stressing that the Senate will remain a strong pillar of support for the King. He also noted that Jordanians on this day remember the continuous efforts and boundless dedication of the Hashemite Kings in laying the foundations of progress and stability and advancing a solid, sustainable national renaissance. Lower House Speaker Mazen Al-Qadi said that Loyalty and Allegiance Day represents a deeply rooted national milestone for renewing the covenant with King Abdullah II. Al-Qadi emphasized that Jordanians stand united behind His Majesty, drawing from his wisdom and steadfastness a path that strengthens national security and stability and safeguards achievements amid the challenges facing the region. He added that this day embodies the profound relationship between the Hashemite leadership and the Jordanian people based on trust, loyalty, and mutual dedication to building a more prosperous future for Jordan reaffirming that the House of Representatives will remain a steadfast supporter of reform and development efforts led by King Abdullah II.
