15/ Jordan, Pakistan Hold Preparatory Talks Ahead of 10th Ministerial Session
Amman, Feb. 4 (Petra) -- Technical preparatory meetings for the 10th session of the Jordan-Pakistan Joint Ministerial Commission began in Islamabad on Wednesday, as part of preparations to hold the commission’s ministerial-level discussions. According to a Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply statement, the the ministry’s Secretary General Dana Zoubi led the Jordanian side and Sabina Qureshi, Additional Secretary at Pakistan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs chaired the Pakistani delegation. The discussions reviewed existing cooperation files and examined priorities for the next phase. Zoubi said the preparatory talks aim to lay the groundwork for the ministerial meetings by addressing areas of shared economic interest, particularly trade and investment. Zoubi added that the discussions focused on identifying opportunities to expand joint cooperation in industry, agriculture, energy, and services, as well as facilitating trade exchange and addressing existing challenges. Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Qudah and Pakistan’s Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal Khan are set to co-chair the 10th session meetings on Thursday. Concluding the meetings, the two co-chairs are scheduled to sign the commission's minutes and a memorandum of understanding on information and communications technology. //Petra// AO
