27/ LH Committee Meets Saudi Ambassador to Boost Ties

Amman, Feb. 3 (Petra) -- The Jordanian-Saudi Parliamentary Brotherhood Committee, headed by MP Abdul Baset Kabariti, met on Tuesday with Saudi Ambassador to Jordan, Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al Saud, to discuss ways to enhance the strong fraternal ties between the two countries.

During a meeting held at the Lower House (LH)'s headquarters, Kabariti said Jordanian-Saudi relations are grounded in the vision of the leaderships of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

Kabariti stressed the committee’s role in strengthening joint parliamentary cooperation and exchanging expertise aimed to serve mutual interests and enhance coordination on issues of common concern.

Kabariti noted continued communication between the Jordanian Lower House of Representatives and the Saudi Shura Council, adding that a parliamentary memorandum of understanding signed by the two sides is now ready for signing to further bolster joint cooperation.

The lawmaker also noted the ongoing cooperation with the Jordanian-Saudi Business Council to address any obstacles facing Saudi investments in the Kingdom, which would "positively" impact the business environment and enhance joint economic development opportunities.

For his part, the Saudi ambassador expressed pride in the brotherly bilateral relations established by the two countries' leaderships, stressing Saudi Arabia’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Jordan’s Lower House of Representatives in various fields, particularly economic and investment sectors.

Meanwhile, the committee members highlighted the "deep-rooted" Jordanian-Saudi partnership, reviewing joint development projects implemented by Saudi Arabia across several governorates in the Kingdom, which reflect level of bilateral "strategic" cooperation.
