39/ Transport Minister Meets with ICAO Audit Team
Amman, Feb. 1 (Petra) - Minister of Transport Nidal Katamine on Sunday met with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) international audit team, in the presence of Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and CEO of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) Captain Daifallah Farajat and representatives of relevant aviation sector bodies. The meeting focused on Jordan’s level of readiness and compliance with air safety standards and airport security requirements, as well as reviewing procedures to ensure continued adherence to international regulations governing civil aviation and mechanisms for addressing observations and follow-up reports issued by international bodies. Katamine said Jordan is keen to fully comply with international regulations and operate in line with globally approved standards, stressing that safety and security remain top priorities across all aviation facilities and airports in a way that enhances the reliability and efficiency of the Kingdom’s air transport system. He added that Jordan, as a founding member of ICAO, takes the organization’s observations and recommendations seriously and works to incorporate them into ongoing executive and development measures, in cooperation with relevant authorities, to improve performance and strengthen safety and security. ICAO is a specialized United Nations agency responsible for setting global standards for international civil aviation, aiming to ensure safety, security, efficiency, and sustainability in air transport worldwide. //Petra// AF
