9/ Jerash Cultural Program Concludes 27-Day Run Across Kingdom
Amman, August 20 (Petra) -- The 40th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts concludes its comprehensive cultural program Thursday evening, wrapping up 27 days of dynamic intellectual and artistic activities held under the theme "A Legacy That Endures... Generations Meet." Spanning venues across the ancient city of Jerash, the capital Amman, and the governorates of Ajloun, Madaba, Karak, and Aqaba, the extended edition was strategically designed to ensure nationwide access, prevent event overlap, and foster deeper engagement with the public and media. The milestone season showcased a rich tapestry of Jordanian and Arab intellectual life, featuring high-profile gatherings such as the Arab Narrative Forum, the International Sculpture and Fine Arts Symposium, and the 13th edition of the Jerash Pioneers talent initiative. The program also celebrated local literature through dedicated forums on the narrative history of Jerash, Nabati poetry evenings, and the presentation of the Jamal Abu Hamdan Prize for Theatrical Creativity to writers Hassan Naji and Mufleh Adwan. Emphasizing inclusive community involvement, the festival highlighted unique social art projects, including the "An Artist in Every Home" initiative in Jerash and the fourth edition of "Fragrance of Color," an innovative sensory art program tailored for visually impaired children. The festival draws to a close tonight with two concurrent poetry evenings hosted at the Jordanian Writers Association in Amman and the King Abdullah Cultural Center in Zarqa, featuring a distinguished lineup of Jordanian and Iraqi poets. //Petra// AJ
