26/ JREEEF implements solar water heating system in Amman's elderly guest center

Amman, August 19 (Petra) –Executive Director of Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF), Rasmi Hamzeh, on Wednesday received the completed solar water heating system project at the White Family Association (WFA) Guest House for the Elderly in Amman.

This project is part of the fund's efforts to support transition to clean energy and enhance energy efficiency in Jordan's social welfare institutions.

As for its feasibility, the project, with a storage capacity of 5,000 liters, will slash the center's electricity bill by more than 70%, equivalent to approximately JD27,000 annually.

In its statement, the fund said the initiative will also prevent about 98 tons of carbon emissions annually and provide efficient and continuous hot water throughout the year.

Complementing the fund's support for the association, the project follows the implementation of a 90-kilowatt solar power system in 2018, which saved about JD14,000 annually on the electricity bill.

The project implemented preventative and corrective maintenance, a five-year warranty, and training for technical staff to ensure the system's sustainability and operational efficiency.

The step reflects the fund's efforts to support Jordan's social welfare institutions in integrating clean energy solutions, which would achieve economic efficiency and a sustainable environmental impact.
