24/ Israeli Ceasefire Violations in Gaza Persist

Amman, Aug. 19 (Petra) -- Israeli occupation forces continued violations of a Gaza ceasefire agreement Wednesday, carrying out more airstrikes and shelling across the enclave.

Medical sources said a Palestinian died of wounds sustained Tuesday in an Israeli strike on a coffee shop at Gaza City's port, which left six Palestinians dead, including a child, and wounded 10 other people.

A Palestinian was shot by occupation forces in central Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, while Israeli military vehicles opened fire northeast of the city.

Southern and eastern parts of Khan Younis came under renewed fire from Israeli tanks, and naval vessels fired shells off the city's coast.

Gaza City's eastern district was also hit by artillery shelling and tank fire, with the Tuffah neighborhood targeted by artillery. The Atatra area west of Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza, also came under Israeli artillery fire.

The overall death toll from Israel's ongoing war on Gaza, which began on Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 73,400 and 174,312 were wounded.
