23/ ICI, GIZ  Conclude Safety Equipment Training for 14 Industrial Firms in Irbid

Irbid, Aug. 19 (Petra) --Irbid Chamber of Industry (ICI) wrapped up a specialized training program on personal protective equipment (PPE), held at Al-Hasan Industrial Estate in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ)-funded "Employment in Jordan 2030" project.

The sessions saw participation from representatives of 14 industrial companies.

According to an ICI statement Wednesday, the program targeted supervisors, occupational safety specialists, operations managers and engineers, and covered types and uses of personal protective equipment, risk-assessment methods, and selecting equipment suited to specific job hazards.

Training also focused on proper use of the equipment and periodic inspection and maintenance procedures.

As for its goals, the chamber said the program addressed common errors in PPE use and ways to strengthen compliance with wearing protective equipment AT industrial facilities, aimed to ensure the "highest" levels of worker protection.

Chamber President Hani Abu Hassan said investing in human capital and promoting a culture of occupational safety are ICI's "priorities."

He noted that specialized training programs for industrial workers help raise facility efficiency, improve working conditions, and reduce the risk of workplace accidents and injuries.

He also highlighted the importance of partnerships with supportive organizations for the industrial sector, mainly GIZ, in delivering targeted programs that meet needs of industrial facilities.
