24/ Israeli occupation forces raid Al Mughayyir village in occupied West Bank; injuries reported

Ramallah, August 15 (Petra) – Several Palestinians suffered from tear gas inhalation on Saturday during an Israeli raid on Al Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said settlers attacked the Shaab al-Loz neighbourhood, northwest of the village and attempted to break into several homes.

Israeli forces subsequently stormed the area and fired tear gas canisters, causing several residents, including children, to suffer from tear gas inhalation.

Villages and towns northeast of Ramallah have been subjected to repeated raids by Israeli forces, alongside ongoing attacks by settlers targeting Palestinian residents and their property.

According to the Palestinian Authority’s Commission against the Wall and Settlements, Israeli forces and settlers carried out 2,256 attacks against Palestinians, their lands and property in July.

Israeli occupation forces were responsible for 1,458 attacks, while settlers carried out 798.

The commission stated that the attacks were concentrated in the governorates of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, with 260 attacks, followed by Nablus with 247, Jenin with 190, Bethlehem with 185 and Hebron with 170.

It said the figures demonstrate what it described as a clear integration between military force and settler attacks, alleging that the Israeli army provides protection and support that enables the expansion of such attacks and facilitates the establishment of their consequences as ongoing realities on the ground.
