Amman, Aug. 13 (Petra) -- Temperatures are forecast to edge lower on Friday before stabilising through the weekend, with typical summer conditions prevailing across most regions and intense heat remaining concentrated in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

Thursday will bring seasonal summer weather to the mountainous areas, while hot conditions are expected in the Badia. The Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba will remain very hot, with moderate northwesterly winds becoming active at times, particularly across desert areas.

A slight decline in temperatures is expected on Friday, bringing typical summer conditions to most parts of the country. Hot weather will persist in the Badia, while very hot conditions continue in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds are forecast to become active occasionally.

The weather pattern is expected to remain largely unchanged over the weekend. Seasonal summer conditions will prevail across most regions on Saturday and Sunday, while the Badia remains hot and very hot weather persists in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds are expected to strengthen at times.

Thursday's temperatures are forecast to reach 35 degrees Celsius in East Amman and 33 C in West Amman. Highs are expected at 31 C in both the northern and Sharah highlands and 35 C across the plains.

Temperatures will be significantly higher in the desert and low-lying regions, reaching 38 C in the Badia, 42 C in the northern Jordan Valley and at the Dead Sea, and 43 C in both the southern Jordan Valley and Aqaba.
